2 wins ERA 1.93 ‘Super Rookie’, entry canceled… Accompanying the 1st team, returning to the selection after 10 days

SSG Landers rookie pitcher Song Young-jin was dropped from the first team entry the day after he became the winning pitcher.

Before the match against LG at Jamsil Stadium on the 27th, SSG excluded Song Young-jin from the first team and called up veteran bullpen Koh Hyo-jun to the first team.

Song Young-jin started against LG in Jamsil on the 26th and pitched 6 innings, 5 hits, 3 walks, 3 strikeouts and 3 runs (2 earned runs), becoming the winning pitcher. Song Young-jin, who joined SSG in the second round of the 2023 rookie draft, is continuing his good pitch with 2 wins in 5 games (3 starting games) and an average ERA of 1.93.

Coach Won-hyung Kim said at Jamsil Stadium on the 27th, “You have to take it out when it’s good. After taking 10 days off, I will start again next time,” he said. He will get enough rest and prepare for the next game.”

SSG has foreign pitcher Romero leaving due to injury, but there are many native starters. Along with foreign pitcher McCarty, there are Kim Kwang-hyun, Park Jong-hoon, Moon Seung-won, and Oh Won-seok. In addition, rookie Song Young-jin became a temporary starter and showed pitching beyond expectations, so it was a shame to be excluded from the selection.

Manager Kim said, 스포츠토토“Like Jong-hoon now, I fall out once and come back when the next selection fails. 6 people go back. Moon Seung-won will be the starting order for Tuesday-Sunday next week. On Sunday, Moon Seung-won can rest and Song Young-jin can come in.”

SSG returned 10 days after Kim Gwang-hyun was dropped from the entry due to a minor shoulder injury in mid-April. Park Jong-hoon is missing from the entry. Next, if Moon Seung-won takes a break and takes turns resting, a starting rotation of 6 players is possible.

Regarding Song Young-jin’s unique fastball movement, coach Kim said, “The fastball moves left and right at the end. It is similar to two-seam and cutter, so it is not easy for catchers to catch the ball.”
