New iPad Pros Still Expected For This Month, But Supplies Could Be Limited

Apple has long been rumored to be working on new iPad Pros with upgraded chipsets and also displays. The tablets were said to be launching this month, but to date we have yet to receive any confirmation that such an event would be happening. However, a report from Bloomberg believes that the tablets could still launch soon.

The report claims that Apple’s new iPad Pros are still on track for a launch, however, the report does caution that we might be faced with supply constraints. Apparently this is due to the use of the new mini LED displays, in which manufacturers are said to be seeing low manufacturing yields for it, with one manufacturer apparently even pausing production to get a handle on it before resuming their operations.

It is speculated that the use of mini LEDs could only be for the larger iPad Pro, and that the smaller version could still use LCD, and as such, the smaller iPad Pro could launch on time while those who prefer the larger model might have to wait. Since we aren’t privy to Apple’s plans, it’s hard to say if these reports are accurate.

The new iPad Pros are also rumored to be launching with a brand new chipset that isn’t just a variant of the A-series, but one that actually brings it more in line with Apple’s M-series of chipsets that first debuted in the company’s computers last year.
