Korea’s ‘highest authority’ competition… KPGA Championship, ‘Tee-off’ on the 8th of next month

Korea’s most prestigious tournament, the KPGA Championship with A-ONE CC, will be held for four days from the 8th of next month.

Since the first tournament was held in June 1958, the KPGA Championship has been held every year until this year. It has the longest history in the Korean tour. This year’s tournament will be held at the South and West courses (par 71) of A1 CC in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, with a total prize money of 1.5 billion won and a winning prize of 300 million won.

This competition has been held at A1 CC for 8 consecutive years since 2016. KPGA and A1CC signed a rental contract for the venue in 2018. According to the contract, the KPGA Championship will be held at A1CC until 2027. A1 CC was selected as the ‘Best Tournament Course’ of the Korean Tour last year.

This year, holes 8 (par 4, 395 yards), holes 10 (par 4, 440 yards), and holes 13 (par 5, 529 yards) were created as special tournament tees. The teeing area for the three holes was postponed.

Compared to last year, the length of the 8th hole increased by 36 yards, the 10th hole by 31 yards, and the 13th hole by 17 yards. This is to improve the performance of the players by increasing the course discrimination ability.

In this year’s tournament, top players such as “defending champion” Shin Sang-hoon, 2021 winner Seo Yo-seop, past winners, opening match winner Ko Gun-taek, and Korean Tour cumulative prize money 1st place Park Sang-hyun will all participate.

The winner is given 5 years of Korean Tour seeding and 1,300 Genesis points. You can also get permanent participation status.안전놀이터
