Play-In Tournament Ahead, LAL Announces Surprise Signing… Will It Be a Scene Stealer?

The Lakers announced a surprise signing on the final day of the regular season. 

‘ESPN’ reported on the 10th (Korean time) that the Los Angeles Lakers had signed big man Tristan Thompson and guard Shaquille Harrison.

The Lakers ended the long race by beating Utah 128-117 in their final game of the regular season. The Lakers advanced to the play-in tournament in 7th place, unfortunately, despite winning their last game, failing to advance directly to the playoffs. They will face off against 8th place Minnesota on the 12th for the 7th seed. 

Now it’s a short game. A battle of momentum where the mood can change over a small thing. The Lakers acquired two more players on the final day of the regular season. It’s Thompson and Harrison.

Thompson, who was drafted 4th overall in the 2011 draft, is a seasoned veteran in the NBA. Although he is not tall, Thompson, whose greatest strength is participating in rebounding, has long experience working with LeBron James. In 2016, he even won a championship in Cleveland.

Thompson, who recently had a workout with the Lakers, eventually succeeded in boarding the last train. Thompson, who has no record of participating in actual matches this season. The Lakers are expected to compete with Mo Bamba for playing time. 

Harrison, who will wear a Lakers uniform with Thompson, is a guard with excellent defensive skills. Harrison, who played for Phoenix,바카라 Chicago, Utah, Denver and Brooklyn, was named the 2022 G League Defender of the Year. He recently signed a 10-day contract with Portland and played on the NBA stage.

Meanwhile, the Lakers released Devon Reed while signing two players. Reed averaged 1.0 points in eight games for the Lakers.
