Song Young-jin Hotu – Oh Tae-gon Maeng-tae… SSG beats LG to return to the lead

SSG Landers won the 1st and 2nd place battles and rose to the lead.

SSG won a 5-3 come-from-behind victory against the LG Twins held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 26th. SSG, who avenged the 4-5 finish loss the previous day, pulled down LG and rose to first place without a ride. SSG rookie pitcher Song Young-jin won his second win of the season with 5 hits, 3 strikeouts and 3 runs (2 earned) in 6 innings with a fastball of 149 km/h. Oh Tae-gon posted 3 hits and 2 RBIs in 4 at-bats, including the final hit.

LG took the lead at the end of the first inning. After Hong Chang-ki hit, Song Young-jin advanced to the base, and Austin Dean struck a timely hit from second out and third base. Song Young-jin lost an extra run in the 3rd inning as his pitch faltered. He sent out Oh Ji-hwan and Moon Bo-kyung with a walk, and allowed 2 runs without a hit with 3 wild throws.

In the beginning of the 4th inning, Oh Tae-gon fired a left-handed solo shot against LG starter Kim Yun-sik, and SSG caught up 1-3. In the 5th inning, Guillermo Heredia hit two RBIs in a timely manner with the bases loaded safely with Choo Shin-soo’s walk, Choi Ji-hoon’s hit, and Choi Jeong’s walk. LG lowered starter Kim Yun-sik and put Kim Jin-seong on the mound, but could not stop the reversal. SSG made it 5-3 with Oh Tae-gon’s double and Park Seong-han’s infield ground ball.

SSG won the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings with no runs by Baek Seung-gun, Choi Min-joon, and Seo Jin-yong. SSG finisher Seo Jin-yong recorded 9 saves (1st place) in the season, continuing an 11-game scoreless streak.ㅋㅋㅋ벳
