Soprano Lee Sang-eun, found dead in the bathroom of the concert hall, ‘autopsy scheduled’

Soprano Lee Sang-eun was found dead in the bathroom of메이저놀이터 a performance hall in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.

According to the Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters on the 10th, at around 8:23 pm on the 6th, soprano Lee Sang-eun (46) was found dead in the women’s bathroom on the 3rd floor of the Culture and Arts Center in Gimcheon.

She said Lee was immediately taken to a nearby hospital by firefighters when she was found, but she was said to have already passed away.

At the time, she was scheduled to perform at the 33rd regular concert of the Gimcheon Municipal Choir invited by the Yeong-Honam Exchange Mokpo Municipal Choir. However, after she disappeared from the waiting room, she was not seen until show time, and she was found passed out in the bathroom.

Police are investigating the exact cause of death, as it is unlikely that Lee’s death was related to her crime.

A police official said, “No special trauma was found. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.”

Meanwhile, Lee was a soprano who graduated from Seoul Arts High School and Seoul National University College of Music and received a master’s degree from Mannes College of Music in New York. In addition, Ms. Lee, who completed professional performance courses at Mannes College of Music and Manhattan College of Music, has also played the lead role in various opera performances at home and abroad.
