The prelude to the TaylorMade Mid-Amateur Championship held by TaylorMade has risen.
The preliminaries for the 3rd TaylorMade Mid-Amateur Championship, looking for the best amateur golfers in Korea, have begun.
The competition, which received a lot of attention even before the opening, held its first preliminary round at Seongmunan CC in Gangwon-do on the 12th. A total of 5 preliminary rounds will be held for this competition, and the finals will be held at the end of October.
Shin Shin Lee overtook Lee Kang-il (2 under par, 70 strokes) with a 3-under-par 69 to take first place in the first qualifying round, and the top 58 out of 240 players qualified for the finals.
The second qualifying round will be held on July 4 at Seorabeol GC in North Gyeongsang Province, and 16 out of 92 participants will be selected. Applications for participation are due on the 19th.
The 3rd qualifying round will be held on August 21st at Baekje CC in South Chungcheong Province, the 4th qualifying round will be held at Shangri-La CC in Jeonbuk on September 18th, and the final 5th qualifying round will be held at Elysian CC Jeju on September 25th.
Preliminary contestants are pure amateur golfers aged 25 years or older with a handicap of 18 or less and must use at least 10 TaylorMade clubs with a ball, hat and gloves. The main line must use 14 balls, gloves, and hats.
There were many prizes and special prizes in this competition. In the preliminaries, 1st place will receive a set of TaylorMade irons, 2nd place will receive a Stealth 2 driver, 3rd place will receive a Stealth 2 fairway wood, 4th place will receive a Stealth 2 Rescue, and 5th place will receive a TaylorMade stand bag.
